Paintings of quiet contemplation. It’s all about the light. My paintings are intended to be challenging yet accessible to a wide audience. The settings may be anywhere yet nowhere and are often backdrops to some submerged psychological drama. I explore my own joys, fears and anxieties about the contemporary world and project them onto the canvas.

The art of Gilbert and George has always sharply divided opinion, especially among critics. In my latest blog, I look at the divergent reviews of their current exhibition. (Image from The Guardian)
Some time back I decided to spend a rainy day at Melbourne’s Botanical Gardens, simply to experience the location when it’s almost deserted. The weather was perfect for the intention - it wasn’t cold, no wind and the rain was a faint drizzle.
I had a sense of ownership over the whole gardens and the serenity was palpable - I would recommend it. This painting evolved from that day and it is available from my store.
